DESCRIPTION
Carbon Fiber provides a carbon fiber appearance to the underlying film/graphic. Starry Night
enhances the underlying film/graphic by adding an intense silver sparkle. These films can
be used with graphics printed on GERBER EDGE®, GERBER EDGE 2®, and GERBER
EDGE FX thermal transfer printing systems, in conjunction with GerberColor™ Foils.
INTENDED APPLICATIONS
Starry Night and Carbon Fiber are intended to be used for lamination over another film substrate
in order to enhance the look of the graphics.
Factors that affect graphic performance life include:
• the combinations of graphics materials used
• selection, condition and preparation of the substrate
• surface texture
• application methods
• angle and direction of sun exposure
• environmental conditions
• cleaning or maintenance methods

SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE
Apply film within one year of receipt. Starry Night and Carbon Fiber should be stored in a
clean area free from excessive moisture and sunlight. Storage temperature is 40° to 100°F (4°
to 38°C).
MAINTENANCE
Clean the face of Starry Night and Carbon Fiber with a mild, non-abrasive soap with a soft cloth
or sponge. The cleaner must have a pH value between 3.0 and 11.0. Avoid soaps
containing grit, abrasives, strong solvents or alcohol.
APPLICATION TECHNIQUE
The following application procedure is recommended for applying Starry Night and Carbon Fiber
to a printed graphic:
1. Print graphics on a compatible EDGE READY™ material.
2. Remove the printed materials from the printer.
3. Using a cold roll laminator (preferred), apply the Special Effects Overlaminate to the
printed graphic. Use care to ensure that the punch holes of the printed material are
not obstructed by the overlaminate.
4. Load the laminated graphic into the plotter and line up the cut registration mark
using the “bomb sight”.
5. Increase the plotter tool force setting before cutting the laminated graphic. The
optimal cut will penetrate through the laminate and base film without cutting through
the liner.
6. Weed and apply graphic as normal.
