Kozo features the smooth surface of a hot press art paper without losing the sensual nature of
traditional Japanese Washi. Machinemade in Tokushima, Japan using the Kozo (mulberry) !ber.
Designed for use with archival ink jet printers, Moenkopi papers have been treated for use with
most dye and pigment inks for a sharp image structure but maintain the exquisite feel expected
from a !ne Japanese Washi paper. Basis weight: 110 gsm, 18 mil, single-sided.
Moenkopi [moe-in-koe-pee] is not a Japanese name and Moab is not located in Japan, but these
papers represent a unique partnership with the Awagami Factory in Tokushima, Japan. Moenkopi
is a Native-American name which was used to identify a mudstone layer of rock common in the
Moab area. ?e world-famous Fisher Towers seen in many a John Wayne !lm, were formed in this
strata. ?ese unique towers seem to &ow from the earth. It is !tting then that Moenkopi would be
used to de!ne our family of environmentally-friendly Japanese papers made primarily from Kozo
(mulberry) !bers.
