A traditional solvent for oil painting, turpentine improves paint flow by thinning oils. The rapid evaporation of turpentine promotes polymerization of oil paint and mediums, thus speeding dry time. Can be applied directly to oil paint or used in painting and glazing mediums. Turpentine may also be used to clean painting equipment.
