This model features wide-band operation up to 3GHz. Due to its superior RF performance, this unit is ideal for IEEE 802.11b/g Wireless LAN applications, as well as ISM, MMDS, Cellular, iDEN and PCS applications. Since this protector will pass DC, it is suitable for applications where DC is carried through the coax cable such as remote amplifiers and LNAs.
This unit offers multi-strike capability via a replaceable gas tube element. A ground lug and terminal are supplied directly on the lightning protector housing providing superior grounding.
Protector is inserted inline between outside antenna and amplifier. The protector does not connect directly to the amplifier. Typically, a 2′ LMR-400 jumper cable is used to connect the protector to the amplifier although any length of LMR-400 coax may be used.
For example, you can run LMR-400 coax from the Yagi on the roof to the lightning protector (mounted just outside the building) and then another run of LMR-400 coax cable from the lightning protector to the amplifier mounted in the building.
The lightning protector must be grounded.
